Senior Gas Trader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Gas Trader to join our dynamic team in Europe. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in our trading operations, leveraging their expertise to navigate the gas market, optimize trading strategies, and drive profitability. 

This role focuses on physical gas trading.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive analysis of gas market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and geopolitical factors affecting trading activities in Eastern Europe.

• Develop and execute trading strategies while effectively managing market risks and exposure.

• Utilize trading tools and models to forecast price movements and identify arbitrage opportunities.

• Establish and nurture relationships with counterparties, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to facilitate seamless trading operations.

• Monitor and interpret market regulations, policy changes, and industry developments to adapt trading strategies accordingly.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align trading strategies with broader business objectives.

• Generate in-depth reports and presentations on market insights, performance analysis, and trading recommendations for senior management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

• Minimum 8 years of experience in physical natural gas trading, especially within the Eastern European market, showcasing a strong track record of successful trades and risk management.

• Profound understanding of gas market dynamics, pricing mechanisms, derivatives, and trading strategies.

• Fluency in English and an Eastern European language.

• Advanced analytical skills, including proficiency in statistical analysis, data modeling, and programming languages (e.g., Python, R).

• Proven ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-paced trading environment while making informed, strategic decisions.

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
